Professional Development Grants
To provide education support professionals, higher education faculty of colleges and universities, and teachers with opportunities to take the lead in acquiring and sharing new skills and knowledge. These skills might include new instructional ideas, technology, working with parents, attending a conference, etc. You may request a grant to acquire these skills and share your new learnings with your colleagues.

School Arts Experience
The School Arts Experience Grant provides funding to Iowa schools and pre-schools to support the cost of field trips to attend an arts event; to support the cost to bring a professional artist or artist group (e.g. actor, musician, visual artist, writer, etc.) into the classroom or school to lead an in-depth arts learning experience or performance; or to support the cost of arts equipment for the classroom to enhance arts learning in public schools across Iowa.
Professional Development Scholarship Emphasizing History, Number Theory, and Discrete Mathematics
To provide financial support for (1) completing credited course work or designing and implementing a personal study plan in one of the following areas: some aspect of the history of mathematics, number theory, or discrete mathematics (2) creating and field-testing appropriate classroom activities incorporating the history of mathematics, number theory, or discrete mathematics into the curriculum and (3) preparing and delivering a professional development presentation to colleagues.
Pre-K–8 Preservice Teacher Action Research Grants
For <a href="https://www.nctm.org/uploadedFiles/Grants_and_Awards/grants/How%20is%20Action%20Research%20Defined.pdf" title="How is Action Research Defined">action research</a> conducted as a collaborative by university faculty, preservice teacher(s), and classroom teacher(s) seeking to improve their understanding of mathematics in Pre-K-8 classroom(s).
Stronger Than Hate Challenge
The Stronger Than Hate Challenge highlights the extraordinary change that can occur when individuals and groups recognize acts and beliefs that are motivated by hatred and take action to counter them. By participating in the challenge, students will listen to eye witness testimonies that explore historical and modern-day stories of hate, investigate if these are occurring in their school or community, develop insight into the opportunities for change, and build a video essay telling the story of how they made their community and our world a better place.
Youth Literacy Grants
Help for students who are below grade level or having trouble reading are eligible to apply. Grant funding is provided to assist in the following areas: Implementing new or expanding existing literacy programs Purchasing new technology or equipment to support literacy initiatives Purchasing books, materials or software for literacy programs
